Switch off the heating

Keep away from electrics
If water is near lights, sockets or the consumer unit, switch the power off at the mains if safe.
Open the taps
Run the cold taps to drain the system and take pressure off the leak.
Catch the water
Buckets and towels under the leak. If a ceiling is bulging, carefully pierce it into a bucket.
